NWB Welcomes Summer Communications and Outreach Intern
The Nebraska Wheat Board (NWB) is excited to welcome Peyton Carpenter as the 2026 Communications and Outreach Intern.
Carpenter will be entering her senior year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), where she is majoring in Agricultural Economics with a minor in Agronomy. Originally from Minnesota, Carpenter chose to attend UNL because of its high-ranking agricultural program and its heavy involvement within the nation’s agricultural industry.
“I am incredibly grateful for having the opportunity to learn and gain experience in Nebraska’s wheat and agricultural industries,” Carpenter says. “I’m excited to connect with producers and organizations from all over the state and get immersive hands-on experience.”
A few of the responsibilities of the internship include managing the NWB’s social media platforms, sharing weekly crop reports, and coordinating communication efforts for the NWB’s radio segment on KVRN. Her other duties include producing newsletters and press releases and supporting outreach initiatives and events throughout Nebraska.
Outside of academics and work, Carpenter enjoys golfing, tennis and hockey, and is actively involved in the Delta Gamma sorority at UNL. She also volunteers for Service for Sight and Husker Pantry. The NWB is thrilled to have her on the team this summer and looks forward to seeing her professional development.
